The Mega Millions lottery jackpot is estimated at over $640 million, with some reports of the possible prize as high as about $760 million. The lump sum payment is $462 million, but of course Uncle Sam will take a hefty chunk of that. It’s still more than most of us could hope to see in a few lifetimes.
